Ashavri was born from a desire to create something beautiful, meaningful, and enduring. After years in the corporate world, our founder, Shruthi Krishnaswamy, chose to follow her creative calling—to build a brand that blends craftsmanship with consciousness.
Each Ashavri piece is a celebration of individuality and intention. Handcrafted by skilled Indian artisans, our Jewelry tells stories inspired by nature, human connection, and cultures from around the globe. We believe in Jewelry that not only enhances your style—but also reflects your values.
Ashavri, pronounced Uh-shaav-ree (Sanskrit), is one of the many Ragas in Indian Classical Music and means 'Spirit of the Heavens'. Each rāga is an array of melodic structures and provides the musician with a musical framework to improvise. The goal of a rāga and its artist is to evoke a feeling or an emotion.
Ashavri is a contemporary jewelry brand. Inspired by Indian roots, with a Western twist. Ashavri's affordable, bold, contemporary, visually striking pieces tell a story, evoke emotion, and eventually become the unique expression of the wearer. They are handcrafted by Indian artisans and made of a variety of sustainable materials, including brass brass alloys, handcrafted pearls, stones and crystals. Making emission-free jewelry available by working with sustainable and eco-friendly manufacturing methods is an integral part of Ashavri.
Meet the Designer
Shruthi Krishnaswamy
Ashavri is the brainchild of Shruthi Krishnaswamy, who was surrounded by her mom’s glorious sarees and glittering diamond jewelry since childhood. However, while fine jewelry fascinated Shruthi, she was always interested in finding a way to make more affordable, unique, versatile pieces that were sustainable as well as durable. She also wanted to empower underprivileged women worldwide. And that is how Ashavri came into being.
She is a lifelong creator who has brought joy through her art, yoga and writing to friends, family and people around the world. After stepping down from a Corporate America role, she decided to embrace her calling and share the beauty she sees in her mind’s eye with humanity at large. She loves interacting with people, and each interaction inspires her with a myriad of ideas, while she brings kindness and mindfulness to each of them.
Shruthi’s lustrous nomadic life dancing through several countries, including India, Oman, UAE, North America, Italy and Ireland allows her to see beauty in an array of landscapes and cultures. She is inspired by flora and fauna, geometry, and the 5 natural elements - earth, water, fire, space and air. Every human connection shapes her design, creating simple pieces that reflect empathy, empowerment, and meaning.
They say that when your mind, heart and soul align, beauty happens. Shruthi brings that alignment to all her working relationships. Whether she’s working with CAD technicians, manufacturers, packagers, shippers, or digital marketing experts, she collaborates with a diverse group of individuals. She does so with seamlessness and mindfulness, allowing the values of Ashavri to shine through every step.
Shruthi holds a Master’s degree from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and a Jewelry design certification from the Gemology Institute of America.
